When Brushing And Flossing Becomes Your Defense Against Gum Infection

Regular brushing and flossing are essential in oral health. They do not only prevent tooth decay and cavities but also gum diseases. Bleeding and swollen gums occur when there is an excessive accumulation of bacteria found in the mouth, plaque are being formed from bacteria and they produce acids that are responsible with the gum inflammation.

Untreated bleeding and swollen gums can progress to advance periodontal disease, and may lead to expensive and painful treatments and it may even trigger certain medical conditions to occur. It won't take too much of your time to be prevented from gum disease. Five minutes of regular brushing and flossing is what it takes to be prevented from gum disease and gum infection combined with regular dental visits and avoiding bad habits such as excessive intake of alcohol and using of tobacco which are one of the common factors of gum disease.
